데이터과잉 시대, 디지털인문학과 기록의 정치

이 글은 현대 데이터 기록 현실의 ‘포스트’적 조건, 특히 동시대 ‘데이터과잉’ 현실을 주목한다. 이 글은 디지털인문학의 국내 위상을 비판적으로 살피고, 그 가운데 가장 중요한 의제 중 하나인 누리꾼 다중이 생산하는 디지털 기억과 기록의 문제를 논의한다. 특히, 인지자본 체제 권력에 의해 규정되는 데이터 생산·가공·분석 기술 조건이 기존 역사적 기록의 의미를 어떻게 재규정하는지를 비판적으로 살핌과 동시에, 이 글은 온라인으로 매개된 정서적 표출이 우리에게 주는 ‘아카이브적 선회’를 적극적으로 수용하고자 한다. 이 글은 디지털인문학의 비판적 가치를 추구하는 일이 새로운 데이터과잉 시대 대항기록의 정치를 벼리는 일과 맞닿아있다고 본다.

Digital Humanities and the Politics of the Archive in the Era of Infoglut

The present study notes the ‘post-’ conditions of data archiving in modern society, especially, the contemporary ‘infoglut’ condition. This study explores the national status of digital humanities critically, and discusses the digital memory and archive, mostly produced by the multitude, which has been the one of the most significant agendas. Especially, This paper intends to embrace an ‘archival turn’ which could be given by the multitude’s affects on the Internet, while it critically observes how the new technological condition of data production, procedure and analysis under the cognitive capital power would redefine the traditional senses of the historical archives. This study considers what we pursue the critical value of the digital humanities with what we aim to put an edge on the politics of the counter-archive in the new era of dataglut.
