고등교육에서의 세계시민교육
-경희대학교 후마니타스칼리지의 사례

이 글은 경의대학교 후마니타스칼리지의 세계시민교육 현황을 살펴보고 있다. 특히 세계시민교육을 직접 실시하고 있는 ‘시민 교과’의 사례에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 이때 현황을 이론교육과 실천활동 두 가지 측면으로 나누어 검토하고 있다. 검토 시기는 시민교육 개설 이후인 2011년부터 전체 교과 차원에서 사례 수집 작업이 이루어져 있는 2014년까지이다.
경희대 후마니타스칼리지 시민교과는 이론 교육 차원에서 세계시민을 독자적인 주제 영역으로 설정하고 있다. 세계시민교육의 비전, 주요 의제, 목표를 제시하고 있는 바, 세계공화국이라는 비전 하에 지구적 차원에서의 공정과 정의, 건전한 생태와 환경, 국제분쟁의 해결과 세계평화 안착, 민주주의와 거버넌스, 권력과 부의 불평등 문제 등을 해결하기 위한 세계시민의 육성을 목표로 하고 있다.
하지만 학생들의 실천 활동 중 세계시민 활동이 차지하는 비율은 매우 낮음을 확인할 수 있다. 2012년 이루 늘어나는 추세를 보이고 있긴 하지만, 전체 실천 활동 중 1~8% 정도에 그치고 있다. 한편 세계시민 실천 활동 주제 중 상다수를 차지하는 것은 다문화 과련 주제이다. 특히 경희대학교 내부의 유학생 관련 주제가 큰 비중을 차지하고 있다. 이는 일상 샐활에서 쉽게 접하는 문제를 중심으로 지구사회와 세계시민을 이해하고 있다는 것을 알려준다.

Global Citizen Education in Higher Education
-The Case of Humanitas College at Kyung Hee University

This article examines the global citizen education in Civic Education Program of Humanitas College, Kyung Hee University. At this time, it will be looked over the theory education and practice activity of students in 2011~2014.
Civic Education Program of Humanitas College, Kyung Hee University sets up global citizenship as a detail subject area. And then, suggests various visions, primary agenda, goal of global citizen education in a world political, socioeconomical, cultural demensions. World Republic(vision), Fair and Justice, Wholesome ecological environment, Settlement of International Conflict, Embodiment of World Peace, Democracy and Governance, Inequality of power and Wealth(agenda), Promotion of Global Citizenship(goal).
However, the percentage of Global citizen activity is a tiny proportion in the whole of student practice activity. Of course, it slowly increases since 2012, just 1~8%, Meanwhile, Global citizen practice activity theme is multicultural topic in most cases. Especially, campus life problem of a foreign students in Kyung Hee University. This means that Kyung Hee University students understand global citizen activity as a easily accessible problem of daily life.
