International Solidarity and Cooperation Trends in Citizenship Education

 This Thesis aims at an exploratory analysis to identify trends in international solidarity and cooperation activities related to civic education. The method to analysis is comparative case study on three cases which are well known; The European Union and Networking European Citizenship Education(NECE), The International Civic and Citizenship Education Study(ICCS), and The Civitas International Program. In order to discuss issues, there are three aspects that who are the 'subject', what is the goal and 'activities' of th solidarity, and how to 'operate' the solidarity. Each of the three cases showed differences in purpose and activities such as 'governance', 'research', and 'spreading of educational programs'. On the other hand, those three similarly maintains a solid international solidarity by promoting a balance between 'civil initiative and government support', 'main organization and member organizations' and 'justification and interests'.
